Concert in the Trees & Social Life of Trees Art Stroll

June 10, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$30

Forest ReLeaf of Missouri is excited to host our Fifth Annual Concert in the Trees featuring The Social Life of Trees Art Stroll on Thursday, June 10.

Inspired by nature and community, six local artists have transformed a ubiquitous tree form into a unique expression of the social lives of trees. The tree forms will be on display along a 1/2 mile trail segment in Creve Coeur Park and will explore themes including interconnectedness, reciprocity and beauty.

Local musician Baba Mike Nelson, an accomplished African drummer and environmentalist, and his crew along with periodic performances from the well-reputed St. Louis Osuwa Taiko drummers will resonate and reverberate around you while you stroll among art installations created by celebrated and new local artists including Eugenia AlexanderDail ChambersAaron McMullin, Ben Bradshaw, Jurni Bayoc and students from Bryan Hill Elementary led by their art teacher Britt Tate-Beaugard.

Your ticket includes:
  • Live music
  • Access to six art installations
  • A first-hand look at Forest ReLeaf’s nursery and arboretum
  • Gift bag featuring a beverage, Forest ReLeaf t-shirt, and more!
Tickets provide timed entries between 6-7pm and 7-8pm. All proceeds fund our mission to distribute more trees in the region! Youth 18 and under receive complimentary admission, but will not receive a gift bag.

Jess Underwood
Finance & Operations Director

After 17 years in the non-profit and public sector, Jess remains committed to mission-driven work that tackles the challenges facing our communities. Their career began with a year of service as an Americorps St. Louis Emergency Response team member, responding to natural disasters and performing conservation projects. That foundation of service led to roles supporting the arts, affordable housing, mental health, and grassroots housing advocacy in St. Louis. During this journey Jess has worked to center the value “nothing about us, without us.” They do their best to ensure that the voices of people who have been marginalized guide the strategy and execution of work that honors their lived experiences. When they aren’t working, Jess is out paddling, hiking, working in their garden, or building something.
